The meeting, a landmark gathering of global grassroots environmental movements, NGOs, development experts, academics and policy makers from 71 countries, will hold at Peace Haven Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria's capital.
Issues to be discussed during the global climate change conference include energy and conflicts, sustainable management of resources, energy rights, energy sovereignty and alternative energy sources. In addition, the international conference includes a panel session on the Niger Delta crisis while another session will take 'testimonies" from impacted communities including the Niger Delta. The conference will also examine and strategise on the role of the national governments, corporate sector, and the civil society organizations in influencing energy related issues.

It will be an opportunity for us to xray issues like the energy challenges facing the world today. Working in solidarity, we hope to fashion a way forward from the often neglected peoples' viewpoint."
